The event featured members of Congress, cabinet secretaries, and pastors reciting curated scripture passages to an audience of evangelical Trump supporters. Despite Trump’s well-known past as a sinner and his not identifying as a Christian, he was the star of the gathering, reading from 2 Chronicles 7:11. Blumenthal interviewed participants about the significance of Trump’s reading and whether they viewed him as a divine instrument, while also asking about the Iran war and Israel’s actions against Christian communities in southern Lebanon.
