More often it appears as normalization of what once shocked us, as indifference to suffering, as the quiet erosion of standards we once held firm. The real battlefield is cultural, spiritual, and intellectual. It is fought in institutions, media narratives, courts of law, and in individuals' hearts, deciding what they will tolerate. To commence such a struggle is to recognize that neutrality is no longer sufficient. Vigilance, discipline, and moral seriousness are necessary.
