The scientific community has convinced the masses of so many unproven, unscientific, half-baked, and immature theories like gravity, evolution, and the Big Bang Theory. Why wouldn't they deceive about the earth's shape or space itself? Researching a subject that 'science' has deemed settled is certainly not a bad idea.
